new inkan
I got a new 印鑑 inkan. Custom ordered. In my purse it looks like a lipstick, haha. I have nothing to confuse it with, I don't even own any lipstick. Or any makeup for that matter.
The middle kanji is 瑠, meaning 'lapis lazuli' and pronounced 'ru'. Aren't I clever. Some store names and such are made by putting a circle (maru) around a character and calling it "Maru + [character pronunciation]" - Marukoshi, Maruimai... etc. We do it in English too, think of Circle K. Anyway, my new nick on MSN is Maruru.
Inkan are Japanese stamps, and you need one to open a bank account, or do almost anything official (except immigration stuff). They also use them for things like credit card transactions.
The other inkan I have, which says "abuetto" (the Japanese approximation of my last name) was kidnapped by the Kamikawa Town Office, perhaps never to be seen again. Oh well, I won't be an Ablett for much longer anyway.

And another woman's last name bites the dust...haha..I am proud to say that the Raymonds aren't catching my last name! Mwahahaha...makes for an angry husband though
